PLYMOUTH HOE - one of the finest natural harbours in Europe and the scene of Sir Francis Drake’s famous defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588. In fact, the bowling green where Drake famously learnt of the Armada’s arrival is just over the road!

THE BARBICAN – a truly historic area which includes the Mayflower Steps, where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to discover America in 1620. Full of character, the Barbican is a lovely place for browsing little shops and galleries, having a coffee and watching the fishing vessels in the harbour.

PLYMOUTH CITY CENTRE– a great shopping experience especially since the opening of Drake Circus, a multi million pound indoor shopping centre which opened in July 2007.
